Air Force stamp class in hockey

Air Force beat Army 3-0 at the all-island six-a-side hockey tournament, organised by the Seethadevi Old Girls’ Sports Club which was worked off at the university grounds in Peradeniya recently.

Airman Kusal Chandrasiri won the best player award while the best goalkeeper award went to Chamalka Fernando. In the women’s segment once again Air Force beat Navy 2-1. Iresha Weerabahu won the best player award while Jeewanthika Keerthirathna walked away with the best goalkeeper award.

In the Under 15 girls’ championship, Seethadevi BV beat Swarnamali BV by 3-0. Dilhani Rajapakshe was selected as the best player and Keshika Gunarathne won the best goalkeeper award.

In the Under 15 boys’ segment Dharmaraja College beat St. Sylvester’s College 3-1 in a penalty shootout. Harsha Weerakoon won the award for best player and Randun Dharmarathne was named the best goalkeeper.

Old Vidyartha won in the Men’s top 14 category with Kasun Jayaratne claiming the prize for best player and Janith Samarakoon being awarded the accolade for best goalkeeper.
