Airtel Lanka powers 28th National Rowing Championships

Bharti Airtel Lanka, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, recently entered in to a strategic partnership with the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka (ARASL) to become the principal sponsor for the 28th National Rowing Championships.

The 28th National Rowing Championships will be held at the Rowing Center at the Diyawanna Lake from April 4-6th, 2013. The newly developed rowing center contains an international standard multi-lane rowing course which runs up to 2km and provides viewing access from both banks.

Airtel Lanka recently made its foray into the field of sports sponsorships through its associations with Rowing, Rugby, Tennis and Golf. The company has deepened its commitment towards development of sports. While Airtel Lanka continues to be involved beyond just a mere investment with all its sports sponsorships stakeholders, it is committed to developing local talent to international standards, thus fostering sports to new heights.

More than 300 participants representing educational institutes, clubs and defense establishments will compete for the coveted championship and over 1000 spectators are expected to be present at the event.
