Altair RCGC Open Golf Championship a resounding success

Altair, the iconic structure that is redefining Colombo’ s skyline designed by world-renowned  architect Moshe Safdie, came forward to sponsor the RCGC Open Golf Championship, which was  held after a lapse of 22 years.

The winner of the Altair RCGC Open was top local golfer N. Thangarajah.

This milestone event on the country’s golfing calendar was a true test of golf and its resurrection, with Altair coming forward as the sponsor, was indeed welcome.

Indo Ocean Developers Director Pradeep Moraes said that Altair was particularly pleased to support this tournament as in keeping with its title the tournament was open to all strata of competitors based solely on competency and membership or club affiliation was not a restrictive factor. 

He said that the competition was “providing the opportunity for a broad field of Sri Lankan talent to showcase their skills after a period of 22 years and was indeed a worthy endeavour.”
