Amana Bank records a victory on debut

Amana Bank secured a five wicket victory in their first MCA ‘G’ division encounter against Kelani Cables recently at St John’s College Grounds, Panadura.

Having elected to bat first, Kelani Cables recovered to score 151/8 after losing their first eight wickets when the score read at 82.

Amana Bank in reply displayed an easy run-chase scoring the winning runs in the 24th over losing only five wickets. Starring for Amana Bank with the bat was Nuwan Fernando with a superb knock of 48 runs, who was solidly supported by Raushan Razik with 35*.

This is the first appearance of Amana Bank in the Mercantile Cricket Association tournament.
