Amãna Takaful beats SLT in Mercantile F Division Cricket

Monday 8th, April, 2013, Colombo, Sri Lanka: Amãna Takaful vies closer to the knockout stage of the Mercantile Cricket Association “F Division 30 over League Tournament” beating SLT by 09 wickets in a match played last week. Led by the former Thomian Skipper Zakir Kanaka, the composite insurer restricted SLT to a paltry 45 runs in a one sided match, as Ifthikar Nazir put the spoke in the wheel with a splendid bowling performance of 4 wickets  in 03 overs giving away only  4 runs.

SLT 45 All Out in 16 overs, Amãna Takaful 51/1 in 4.5 overs. Dasun Maduranga 27 Not out, Zakir Kanaka (Capt.) 21. Bowling, Ifthikar Nazir 4/4, Shameer Sahir 2/3, Ijaz Mawroon 2/19, Dasun Maduranga 1/8.

In their past encounters with Data entry, Polytex Garments, John Keells and Astron, Amãna Takaful had impressive wins against Data Entry and Astron. Adding to the highlights of the season, batsman Dasun Maduranga scored an impressive 111 runs in 72 balls with 16 Fours and 02 Sixes in the match against Data Entry making him one of the few batsman who have so far scored centuries in the tournament.
