The 15th edition of the AmCham Golf Tournament, being sponsored this year by Future Automobile Ltd. and hence titled the AmCham-Ford Golf Tournament this year, is slated to get underway on 20 September at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. Future Automobile is the authorised local dealer for Ford
Proceeds from the competition will be donated by tournament organisers AmCham and RCGC toward the care of children suffering from Down’s syndrome within the Mount Lavinia area.
“The AmCham Golf Tournament has been a tremendous success for 14 consecutive years. Over these 14 years, the funds raised from the tournament have helped and supported different charitable projects. We are pleased to partner with Future Automobile Ltd.-Ford on the 15th year of this tournament as they too make their mark in the automobile industry with a top range brand,” AmCham Sri Lanka President Suren Rajanathan said.
RCGC Captain Michael Perera expressed similar sentiments about the partnership, commenting: “AmCham has helped the community greatly through this tournament. Apart from the fundraising for the children suffering from Down’s syndrome, some of the proceeds will go to the caddy community and the children of RCGC staff. This will help uplift their standard of living and address their children’s educational needs.”
AmCham’s other partner at this year’s event is Cinnamon Air.
