The 12th AmCham RCGC Golf Tournament held on 29 October 2011 in partnership with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) was a tremendous success.

It is customary for part proceeds of the Golf Tournament to be channeled towards a worthy cause. During the past years many deserving charities have received substantial donations through this event.

As a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in partnership with the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau one hundred and twenty three (123) needy children were presented with school materials which included a school bag, uniform materials, books, instrument box, a voucher for shoes, water bottle, lunch box, etc., at a function held on 14 December 2011 at RCGC.

Scholarships were awarded to two identified children of the RCGC staff considering their O/L examination results. M.M.K. Kumari and H.W.G. Sanjaya were awarded scholarships to assist them financially in covering their fees for an AAT Course.

AmCham together with RCGC wishes to thank sponsors and well wishers that helped in numerous ways in making this event a success and is hoping to support and facilitate many more deserving children in society in meeting their educational requirements.
