One of India’s leading motor sport legends, Akbar Ebrahim, will be back in Sri Lanka on 18 and 19 May to conduct another round of training for Sri Lankan motor sport drivers. This year too, Asian Motor Racing Club together with Speed Drome will be continuing their effort in developing the standard of Motor Sports in Sri Lanka by joining hands with Akbar Ebrahim to bring an advanced driver training program to the island.

Akbar Ebrahim has played a vital role in training the young McLarens Formula 1300 teams in the past couple of years, and has bestowed upon all young drivers a great amount of knowledge in terms of what to do and what not to do on race track.

This time around, Akbar Ebrahim along with the Asian Motor Racing Club and Speed Drome have decided to give all experienced race drivers an opportunity to learn under the guidance of Ebrahim to fine tune their skills on the race track, whereas on previous occasions his trainings were mainly focused on the Formula McLarens 1300 team, which is the premier motor racing class which produces young racing talent in the island.

Approximately, 30 established race drivers are expected to take part in this training program, as well as the Formula McLarens 1300 team of 2013 the youngest racing team in Sri Lanka taking part in the advanced training program.

Akbar Ebrahim is a FIA certified trainer, who has helped nurture most of India’s Formula racing talent namely Narayan Karthikayen and Karun Chandok, and has been highly involved with the Speed Drome in their young motor racing talent development program, which manages young talent from a very young age at Speed Drome Battaramulla, which thereby acts as a stepping stone for the McLarens formula 1300 team. Interested motor racing drivers can contact Kalum Piyasena on 0773 580 835 for more information regarding the training program and be a part of an international standard motor racing training program.
