The annual championship of the Victoria Golf and Country Resort was worked off at the Victoria Golf Course last recently.
This championship attracted over 75 golfers which was opened out to only club members. The number of entries received were reduced due to two tournament taking place in Colombo and Nuwara Eliya at the same time around. Etisalat the mobile service provider was the sponsor at this event.
Amrith De Soysa won the best gross and in the ladies category Sharon Hall walked away with the trophy.
General Manager Victoria Golf and Country Resort Neroy Marso speaking to Daily FT said that alternate weather condition has done a world of good to the golf course as it is in best possible condition was very positive that they will be once again eyeing for the prestigious award of ‘Best Golf Course in the Sub-Continent,’ which they have won eight times in 12 years and in other years they have finished runner-up.
