Ananda College Colombo, an exemplary national institution, continues to be a premier boys’ school in the island, producing countless Sri Lankan erudite scholars, professionals, entrepreneurs and all round well-disciplined responsible citizens is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year.
To mark this historic milestone Ananda College Old Boys’ Association has organised a Walk and Mini-Carnival on 15 July.
The walk will start from Ananda College at 1 p.m. on Saturday 15 July and walk up to the Hawkers’ Street (Greenpath) where a Carnival and a Fun Fair will be held for the participants. Popular artists Bathiya & Santhush, Umariya, Shanuka and Lahiru will perform at the Musical Show during the Carnival with the popular band Wayo.
The last Ananda Walk was held five years ago to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the college and the unique event this year will comprise of many more attractions and fun filled activities together with meeting old Anandians. The organising committee invites all students, parents, old Anandians and well-wishers to join the much-awaited unique event on 15 July to make it a success.
The funds of this event will be used for improving of the educational and infrastructural facilities of the Ananda College. The renovation and upgrading of the College Swimming Pool complex which was constructed 24 years ago will be given a special attention.
