Anika Senevirtne becomes youngest Triple Champion 

Anika Senevirtne became the youngest women’s Triple Champion in the history of the prestigious 102nd Colombo Championships at the SLTA courts on Saturday.

Senevirtne, who had previously won the Women’s Singles by defeating Roshenka Fernando 6/1 1/6 6/1 in the finals, then partnered Dinesh Kandan to beat bottom seeds Amrita Muttaiah and Yasitha De Silva 6/3 3/6 10/4 and then beat top seeds Madira Samarasinghe and Sanka Athukorala 6/1 7/5 in the mixed doubles final.

In the Women’s Doubles she partnered former National Champion Jithmie Jayawickwickrama to topple the top seeds Kimali Hearath and Shanalie Wijesekera 6/3 6/3 in the semifinal and the bottom seeds Ruksika Wijesooriya and Roshenka Fernando 6/2 6/1 in the finals to win the doubles title.
