Annika wins Colombo Regional Tennis Tournament Under 10 crown

The Colombo Regional Tennis Tournament Under 10 was conducted over the weekend at Sri Lanka Tennis Association SLTA with 12 players entering and 34 matches taking place over the two days.

Annika Seneviratne of Ladies College was crowned the unbeaten Champion after defeating Kaumini Nawaragodagedara of Visaka Vidiyalaya who is ranked number two all island in a tense final.

Annika saved three match points and won 6/4 to win her first tournament. Ladies College who defeated Visaka Vidiyalaya in the Semi Final of the All Island Schools tournament conducted a few months back saw the top four positions in this tournament occupied by these two schools.

Annika beat the following players on her way to victory. Oneli Perera ( St Bridgets ) 6/4 Venoli Weerawardena ( Lyciem ) 5/3 Vineli Bandara (Visaka) 5/0 Ashna Nelson (ladies) 5/0 Thamalee Dassanyke (Visaka) Semi Final Liveesha Rathanayke (Visaka ) 5/3

Final Kumini Nawara-godagedara 6/4

Liveesha Rathanayke beat Ashna Nelson in the 3rd place play off 5/2
