Annual Oman Air Golf Classic set to tee off

The annual Oman Air Golf Classic 2013 is set to tee off at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort at Digana, Kandy, on 10 and 11 August 2013. Organised by the Victoria Golf and Country Resort and sponsored by Oman Air, the tournament will feature prominent golf enthusiasts from the Middle East and Sri Lanka facing off for the top spots. The announcement was made at a press conference that saw the participation of Gihan Karunaratne, Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives, Oman Air, Errol Johnston – General Manager, Victoria Golf & Country Club and Dhanushika Medagoda – Manager Golf Marketing and Events, Victoria Golf & Country Club. This year’s tournament will feature the participation of over 100 golfers, with the winners receiving a grand prize of a voucher worth Rs. 100,000 from Oman Air. The golfers will be taking to the green for the positions of Overall winner and Runner up, plus Gross Winner, Nearest to the pin and Longest Driver in both the ladies and gents categories. Commenting on the tournament, Gihan Karunaratne, Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives, Oman Air, said: “I am pleased to announce the fourth 4th man Air Golf Classic, which has become a much-awaited golfing tournament in Sri Lanka.
