Anusha Steel wins RS Steel inter-group cricket championship

The RS Steel Group of Companies held its seventh annual inter-group RS Steel Cricket Championship 2017 at the Ja-Ela public sports ground with the participation of RS Steel Ltd. Chairman Dr. Ramesh Shivalingam and Mrs. Shivalingam.

RS Steel, a leading steel wire manufacturing company in Sri Lanka, manufactures RS QST RB 500 steel wires. RS Steel (RS Super King Sports Club) with its sister companies - Anusha Steel (ASI Sports Club) and Kailas Hardware Center (KHC Sports Club) - participated in the annual inter-group cricket tournament.

ASI Sports Club of Anusha Steel Company emerged winners at the sports competition. Kailas Hardware Center (KHC Sports Club) became the runners-up.

A. Udayakumar of Anusha Steel Company (ASI Sports club) clinched the award for the Best Player in the tournament. P. Padmakumar of Anusha Steel Company (ASI Sports club) became the Best Bowler. 

Chairman Shivalingam, who was the Chief Guest at the inter-group cricket competition, said the RS Steel cricket competition was held for the seventh consecutive year with the objective of strengthening team spirit among workers in the group of companies and also enhancing their capacity and talent to engage in sports. 

“The employees of the RS Steel group of companies engage in sports events throughout the year and in the process play friendly cricket matches with sports clubs of other companies. This annual inter-company cricket event enhances the sporting talents of our workers and helps them to excel in friendly matches played with other companies,” said the Chairman.

The company’s product RS QST RB 500 steel wire is made to international standards with the best quality imported iron billets with the latest technology and chemicals to add extra strength. The Sri Lanka Standard Institute awarded a SLS 375:2009 standard certificate to RS QST RB 500 steel wire in 2015.
