The 15th National Archery Championships, organised by the Sri Lanka Archery Association, will be held on 24 and 25 January at the Torrington Sports Ministry Grounds.
“This is the key event of the archery calendar in Sri Lanka and will witness the country’s top archers taking part. There will be approximately 220 top archers from all clubs participating from around the island,” Organising Committee Chairman Samantha Rajapaksa said.
They will be shooting in both the re-curve and compound archery categories. The tournament will commence at 9.00 a.m. on each day.
The fourth Junior Archery Nationals will be held on 31 January and 1 February at the Colombo Archery Centre of the CR&FC Sports Complex. Archery has established itself as one of the fastest developing sports in Sri Lanka and is also an Asian Games and Olympic sport.
