Arethusa beats Zahirians at ‘Battle of the Greens’

The ‘Battle of the Greens’ cricket encounter between T.B. Jayah Zahira College Colombo and Arethusa College Colombo was held at the Moors Cricket Grounds Colombo recently.

Arethusa College scored 208 for 7 wicket and T.B. Jayah Zahira College 207 all out. Arethusa College won the match with three wickets. The Chief Guest of the encounter was former Sri Lanka Test Cricketer Upul Chandana, who distributed the champion shield to the Arethusa College Captain Umaid Mafaz.

The Best Batsman award was received by T.B. Jayah Zahira College Rahumath Ali, from the guest of honour ITN Director Hashim Omar. Member of the Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team Oshini Ranasinghe, T.B. Jayah Zahira College Principal Nazeera Hassanar, Arethusa College Principal Bimla Vidvanthi, College OBA Secretary Marshad Barry and T.B. Jayah Zahira College OBA President M. Shabeen distributed certificates and gold medals to the winners.
