Arjuna Jayasinghe wins “Lion” for Cricket

Trinity College Kandy cricketer Arjuna Jayasinghe received the highest award for any Trinitian, a “Lion” at the College hall recently. Arjuna for his fine form in batting won this award from Acting Principal Colin Ratnayake. Also winning “Lion” awards were Charmoud Dissanyake (boxing) and S.A. Abeywardena (weight lifting).

Colours were awarded to D.R.B. Ranasinghe, V.V. Mahadulewa and Saranga Gunatilake in boxing. Saranga is a triple colorsman, having already received Colours for athletics and rugby football. Saranga who played as a full back for Trinity and scored more than 100 points for Trinity is also in the Sri Lanka Youth sevens pool for the tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Mohamed Naveed (Tennis), Dilan Jayalath, Duvindu Tilakaratne, Shanogeeth Shanmuganathan, Hasitha Boyagoda, Lahiru Kumara, Niushan Weerasinghe, Kavin Hiniduma (cricket), D.R.B. Ransinghe, V.V. Mahadulewa (Boxing), Lalith Hinagame (Basketball), S.T.B. Jayasundara (Weightlifting).
