Army SC win Women’s Sevens

The Inter Club Women’s rugby Sevens championship was on with Army SC beating Navy SC 22/10 in the Cup final which was worked off at the Havelcok Park recently. 

The 11-team event was a yardstick to select the Sri Lanka women’s rugby team for the Asian Sevens Championship which will be worked off in China, Colombo, Hong Kong and Tokyo later this year.

In the Shield final, Rathgama RFC beat Rathgama Tigresses 20/0, while the Navy B emerged winners beating Nugawela RFC 32/0 in the Bowl final.

Air Force outclassed Sabaragamuwa RFC 53/0 to secure Plate championship. National selectors named the initial pool of 24 players.
