While Niloo Jayatilake (Pam Fernando Trophy), Sidath Wettimuny (Ebert’s Pot) and Ahalya Rajan (Victoria Bowl) won the other accolades at the annual event which saw the participation of more than 100 golfers.
Asakawa returned with a gross of 31 to win the event. The Japanese golfer had a lead over second-placed Sheron Fernando, who returned with a gross score of 29. Nimal Wettimuny and Sidath Wettimuny came close in third and fourth place.
In the Pam Fernando trophy Niloo Jayatilake as usual stamped her class with a score of 22, overtaking runner-up Suwen Selvaratnam who scored 20. Melani Bond too ended on 20 but on count back ended third. In the Victoria Bowl event Ahalya Rajan returned with a score of 39 with Irena Scarth scoring 37. Roshini Sangani ended in third position with a score of 33.
The Ebert’s Pot event was won by Wettimuny with a net score of 36. Thusith Wijesinghe ended second with Tony Pearce finishing third.
