Hong Kong will defend the Under 18 Asian Title this week-end in the 10 team event

The second Under-18 Asian Schools Rugby Sevens Championship will be worked off in Hong Kong on 23 and 24 July at the Kings Park grounds, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The touring Sri Lankan Under-18 outfit will be led by Thomian Naveen Heenakankanmge with Isipathana player Sumudu Rankothge serving as his deputy. Former Zahirian, CR and FC and Sri Lanka Sevens player Mohamed Mushtaq will be the Head Coach on this tour after signing a one-year contract with the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU).
Sri Lanka will play Thailand (10.30 a.m. Sri Lankan time), Malaysia (11.50 a.m. Sri Lankan time) and Mongolia (1.30 p.m. Sri Lankan time) on the opening day. On Day 2 they will play their last group encounter against Cambodia (11.40 a.m. Sri Lankan time).
The final touring squad of 12 players will be named today and the team will depart to Hong Kong on 21 July. The Sri Lankan touring squad has been sent for ministry approval but has not yet been confirmed. The outfit will leave to Hong Kong tomorrow morning with the hosts Hong Kong defending the title which they won in the competition’s initial year.
