AVI sponsored Sangeeth Wijesuriya wins gold

Sangeeth Wijesuriya, who is sponsored by AVI (performance brand of DSI) won the Gold (56 kg) at the 1st South Asian weight Lifting championship which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal recently. Nepal Weight Lifting Association organized this event where contestants from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Maldives, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal participated.

Wijesuriya has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka over the years. He was the gold medalist (56 kg category) at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2011 held in South Africa and he is also the national weightlifting champion in the 56kg category.

Wijesuriya conveyed his gratitude towards AVI for taking the initiative to sponsor him in order to realize his dreams in weight lifting. He appreciated DSI for assisting upcoming players in elevating the standard of sports in Sri Lanka being a true local company.
