The bail granted to a sports coach attached to a school in Colombo was ordered to be cancelled by a Colombo Court in a case where he is alleged to have defrauded the school cricket team of Rs. 559,500 by promising 16 school cricketers  participation in a cricket tour in Pakistan.

When the case came up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, the suspect had been reluctant to repay the amount as he had promised earlier and thereby he was ordered to be remanded till 20 May.

Counsel Khalid Muhaimin appearing for the complainant party alleged that the suspect Mohammed Rishwan had organised an overseas tour to send 16 school cricketers to Pakistan.

He further alleged that each student had paid Rs. 25,000 for the anticipated cricket tour, which had not materialised. He further told Court that the expected tour had been cancelled and the cheques issued by the suspect in lieu of the money collected had bounced.
