Baurs backs major golf tournament for second time

The prestigious Captains Cup and Presidents Prize golf tournament are scheduled to take place at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club course during the upcoming holiday weekend (13 and 14 April).

It was first sponsored by A. Baur & Co. Ltd. in 2010 and this year is the second year and is sponsored by Baur Consumer and Baur Optics.

Both the Captain’s Cup and President’s Prize have a long history in Sri Lanka. The Captain’s Cup was introduced during the jubilee celebrations of the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club in 1897 (September) while the President’s Prize was first played in 1951. The two events have been played regularly over a number of years – the Captain’s Cup for over a century.
