BGB Schools Volleyball Championship 2015 this weekend

The ninth edition of the Blue, Gold & Blue (BGB) Western Province Invitation Schools Volleyball Championship 2015, organised and conducted by the Royal College Union Volleyball Advisory and Management Committee (RCUVAMC), will be held on 20 and 21 June at the Royal College grounds.

This two-day event will see more than 100 teams from the Western Province participating in three age groups (under-15, 17 and 19) for boys and under-19 for girls.

The defending under-19 champions are the hosts Royal College as they defeated Central College, Aluthgama in the final last year. Under-15 and 17 championships last year were won by Kuruwamulla College and De Mazenod College, Kandana respectively while Royal College and Malabe Model School became the runners-up in the respective divisions.

The country’s top most referees will officiate at this tournament with attractive trophies and medals on offer. Special awards for the most outstanding player of the tournament, the best setter, best attacker and best player too would be on offer in both categories.
