BMW Golf Cup International 2012 ends on successful note

The second annual BMW Golf Cup International 2012 tournament Sri Lanka, took place at the Royal Ceylon Golf Club on recently. The one-day event saw no less than 230 participants tee of for a chance to be crowned champions and for a place in the team that will represent Sri Lanka in South Africa at the finals in February 2013.

The event declared open by German Ambassador to Sri Lanka Dr. Jürgen Morhard, who showcased the talents of leading Sri Lankan  German Ambassador to Sri Lanka Dr. Jurgan Morhard ceremoniously declared open the grand BMW Golf Cup Tournament at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The event also served as the national finals to qualify players for the BMW Golf Cup International to be held in South Africa in February 2013golfers in a display of top-notch sportsmanship. Winner in the men’s category this year was Nirmal Hettiarachchi, while winner in the women’s category was Michelle Mirchandani.
