The stage is set for the fourth consecutive Bradby Fiesta to add colour, glamour and festivities to school rugby’s most anticipated game, where the lions from Kandy clash with the elephants from Colombo.

The Colombo leg of the 73rd Bradby shield played between Royal College and Trinity College is scheduled to be held on 3 June at the Royal College Sports Complex.

The Royal College Union for the fourth successive year is to organise the Bradby Fiesta 2017 to coincide with the second leg of the Bradby Shield.  As the Bradby Express arrives in Colombo with the Trinitians to claim that they witnessed another of these historical encounters between the two schools, the Bradby Fiesta will add a carnival atmosphere to the encounter while enhancing the camaraderie amongst these two schools’ brethren.

The fiesta shall be open from 9.30 a.m. till midnight on 3 June at the Bloomfield grounds in Colombo. The Inter-School Tag Rugby Tournament hosted by the Royal College Union shall feature the morning session of Fiesta 2017, with the participation of many schools.

The organisers believe that events such as these will nurture in the kids the need to take up the game in the future. In partnership with Milo, the organisers have also scheduled an educating ‘Kids Nutrition Program’ during the morning session to create awareness amongst the parents as to the nutritional demands of growing up, with a focus on sports.

The Bradby Fiesta shall also provide an opportunity for those who cannot secure a ticket to witness the game at the Royalists’ home ground to catch the live action on giant LED screens and to cheer on their favourite team.

The after party shall kick off following the conclusion of the game, with a dazzling performance by DJ Mira specially flown in from Ukraine, to the take the Colombo party scene to its next level with her talent and beauty.

The night will be filled with fun and music with the performance of pioneers in Sri Lankan musical entertainment such as Black, BnS and Natasha Rathnayaka, on one of the most glamorous stages of the year, courtesy of Imagine Entertainments Ltd.

The Bradby Fiesta will offer something for everyone in the family with its dedicated Kids’ Game Zone and health and nutritional program for parents. The Kids’ Zone will have many fun games for kids and will be open from 9.30 a.m.

3D movie rides that can accommodate nine people at a time will be a showstopper along with carnival fun rides, jet rides, merry-go-rounds and much more.

The organising committee of the Brady Fiesta invites people to witness what it describes as one of the greatest carnival experiences in Colombo with many surprises and entertainment awaiting.
