Bresnan to miss Sri Lanka series with calf injury

May 17 (Reuters) - England fast bowler Tim Bresnan is likely to miss the test series against Sri Lanka after suffering a torn calf muscle, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Tuesday.

The injury is a recurrence of one Bresnan first suffered during the one-day series against Australia this year.

“A rehabilitation and recovery programme will be established in the coming days following further medical assessment,” the ECB said in a statement.

The three-test series against Sri Lanka begins in Cardiff on May 26.
