Browns Hotels and Resorts sponsors Pearl Island Charity Ride 2015

The Dubai Bikers ride for the third consecutive year in Sri Lanka in aid of the Ruhunu Children’s Orphanage in Galle.

The Dubai Bikers Charity Ride kick started on 22 August after a brief launch and cocktails at the Jetwing Blue Hotel in Negombo.

18 Harley Davidson bikers revved off on an island-wide tour from 22 to 28 August.

Post two successful rides the last two years, the riders returned to Sri Lanka for the third time for yet another exciting county-wide tour led by the legendary Sri Lankan rider Leonard Pali, who has been a passionate biker for the past 10 years.

With all on-ground tour arrangements handled exclusively by Ceylon Roots, the group biked through Negombo the first day to Dambulla, spending the night at the Paradise Resort & Spa (Browns Hotels & Resorts). The group visited Sigiriya, Habarana and the surrounding areas. On 24 August the bikers were led through to Trincomalee and accommodated for the night at The Calm Resort and Spa in Pasikudah (Browns Hotels & Resorts).

The riders continued on to Nuwara Eliya via Manampitiya, Mahiyanganaya and Badulla, taking in and experiencing all the beautiful scenic views along the mountainous and lush routes in Sri Lanka and rested for the night at Jetwing’s St. Andrew’s Hotel.

The tour continued thereafter on 26 August to Bandarawela, Haputale, Rathnapura, Matugama and Beruwala. The Lanka Princess Hotel welcomed the Dubai Bikers for their night’s stay on the southern coast.

Heading towards Galle on 27 August, the bikers and crew stopped over to visit the Ruhuhu Lama Niwasaya donating everything from dry rations to clothes and little necessities.

Just before continuing on their last lap of the tour, the bikers were escorted to the Galle Fort. Riding through Kalutara, Kesbewa and Madiwela, the riders ended their tour in Colombo.

The Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, welcomed the bikers on their last day, offering accommodation and a cocktail in honour of their achievements.

Talking about the bikers’ experience this year, Leonard Pali commented that he is indeed honoured and overjoyed to have been able to bring in the Harleys and its riders for a third and successful tour in Sri Lanka. Next year he says he would like to call this the ‘Super Bike’ charity ride, whereby reputed brands like Honda, Suzuki and the likes can join in.

MBC Networks were the media sponsors while Ceylon Roots Ltd. was the ground handling partner of the charity ride.
