The Old Boy’s Union of Carey College Colombo will stage their annual Old Boys vs. Present Boys cricket sixes tournament on Saturday 6 June from 9 a.m. onwards at the Colts Cricket Club. Traditionally played for the C.M. Vasa Challenge Trophy the event is being organised as part of a fund raising effort for the College Sports Development Fund launched by the OBU last year in an attempt to enhance the standard of sports at the school.
Friendly matches will be played between the Old Boys and Present Boys, at Inter House level, between Old Boy batches, staff and parents. Taking on a carnival atmosphere there will also be food and game stalls for the entire family to enjoy.
Organised under Project Chairman Inam Hassan and Project Secretary Prasad Mendis, the committee also includes many other eminent and enthusiastic old boys from Carey College looking to give back to their Alma Mater. The organising committee requests old boys from all generations to join in the fun and entertainment, together with their families, and to help strengthen the school.
