CEAT racing team in 14 podium finishes at Gunner Supercross

The CEAT racing team achieved 14 podium finishes in the events for cars at the 2013 Gunner Supercross, with three drivers winning their events, four coming in second and three finishing third. Motoring ace Upulwan Serasinghe won the Group SL-N Ford Laser/Mazda 1500cc race, was placed second in the 1300cc event in the same category and came in fifth in two of the 1600cc races at this meet. His teammate Shashika Lakmal Wijerathna was the winner at the Group SL-A Mini (1000cc) race, while another CEAT racer, Lt. Colonel Duminda Jayasinghe, won first place in the race for trucks and jeeps and was placed third in the trucks and jeeps open event. He also won fourth place in the SL-N Ford Laser/Mazda 1300cc race. Meanwhile, CEAT Racing driver Chathura Priyankara Wijeratne was placed third in the Group SL-A Mini 7 1000cc event, and Janaka Dias won second place in two races in SLGT 3500 category and came third in the SL-H 1600cc race. Lt. Colonel Indu Samarakoon was placed second in the trucks and jeeps event, which was won by his teammate Duminda Jayasinghe, and secured fourth place in the SL-N Standard Cars 1300cc race. CEAT’s star motorcycle racer Jacques Gunawardana won his event in the Group MX Motocross Bikes up to 85cc category and was placed sixth in the 250cc race. “As always, the members of the CEAT racing team have done themselves proud and provided an excellent demonstration of the capabilities of our tyres,” said Raman Rajagopalan, MD/CEO at CEAT Kelani Holdings. “We are extremely pleased at their continuing dominance of racing events around the country.
