Cinnamon Grand emerge Runners Up at Travel Trade Badminton Tourney

Cinnamon Grand ‘B’ team emerged runners up in the Travel Trade Badminton Tournament which concluded at S. Thomas’ Sports Complex at Mount Lavinia on Sunday, 4 September.

Organised by the Travel Trade Sports Club, 19 teams from various companies in the industry took part in the event. Cinnamon Grand B team’s strong performance warranted the team to qualify for the finals, but despite a strong battle, Walkers Tours emerged winners. The ‘B’ team comprised Indika Sumanaweera De Silva (Capt.), S.M.T.Samaranayake, Chandika Jayarathne,  Shanika Rajakaruna and Kavindu Keshan.

Cinnamon Grand ‘A’ team also competed in the tournament and came up to the semi-final stage. It was a match between Walkers that made them loose their footing. This team included Darshana Dissanayajke (Capt.), Rasika Mendis, J.K.A.Mahendra, Sunethra Samarasinghe, Vishadini Fernando and A.N.D. Almeida.
