Cinnamon Grand holds Inter Department Cricket Sixes 2015

Over 500 Cinnamon Grand associates gathered at the BRC Grounds on Saturday, 07 November to see 28 teams competing neck-to-neck, vying to take home the championship trophies (men/women) at the much anticipated annual Inter Department Cricket Sixes.

Angsana Pain Killers took home the Men’s Sixes Championship Trophy after a fierce match with Finance Tuskers; while F&B Avengers beat Sales Force at the finals to emerge as Women’s Sixes Champions.

Ramesh Peiris from Angsana Pain Killers won the coveted Man of the Tournament title, while Denuka Costa of Finance Tuskers won Man of the Final. Woman of the Tournament was won by RasikaEdirisinghe from F&B Avengers.             

Costa from Finance Tuskers and Peiris from Angsana Pain Killers were also awarded with the titles of Best Batsman of the Tournament and Best Bowler of the Tournament.  Best Fielder of the Tournament was Rasika Mendis from Angsana Pain Killers.

The five-over game, saw 25 men’s teams and three women’s team competing in a series of matches, while those gathered enjoyed the fun games and activities at the Cricket Carnival, organised to make the day an enjoyable and memorable one for the Cinnamon Grand family. The kitchen brigade laid out a special buffet spread this year, in true five-star spirit.

A highlight was the special GM’s Trophy given to the winners of the exhibition match Watch Guard Security Team repeated their feat for the third consecutive year, with a spectacular win against Walkers Tours.
