Cinnamon Lakeside tennis championship recognises top players

The Open Ranking Tennis Championship hosted by Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo annually took place again in November and December 2012. The championship concluded with an award ceremony held on 13 February 2013 at 8° on the Lake, the hotel’s floating restaurant.  

The tournament is well recognised within the Sri Lankan tennis community and is featured on the Sri Lanka Tennis Association’s (SLTA) yearly calendar of events. This year the event was sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank along with the co-sponsor Third Generation Sports and SriLankan Airlines.  

The tournament is a B Grade tournament ranked by the SLTA based on the quality of organisation by the hotel’s health and fitness club in conducting the event. Over 400 players participated, including all national level players in all age groups. The tournament was conducted in accordance with the code of conduct of the International Tennis Federation along with the SLTA.
