Club Bentota regains men’s title, Amaya Lake, Kandalama emerge new women’s winners at 36th TTSC Soft

Club Bentota regained the men’s title for the second successive year, while Amaya  Lake, Kandalama  emerged as the  new women’s winner at the 36th Travel Trade Sports Club Softball Cricket Sixes at Shalika and D.S. Senanayake College grounds on Sunday.

In an all Bentota Men’s final at Shalika grounds, a hat trick by Dunil Darshana propelled the defending Champions, Club Bentota to beat Bentota Beach Hotel by three wickets.

In a low scoring women’s final Amaya Lake Kandalama piped former Champions, Club Hotel Dolphin, Waikkaal by four wickets, the winning run coming in the last ball.

Quarter Finals: Lanka Princess Hotel 62/5 (5); lost to Club Bentota 63/2 (4);  Elephant Reach, Yala  59/4 (5) beat Camelot Beach Hotel, Nigombo 49/4 (5);  Royal Palms, Kalutara 57/5 (5) lost to Chaya Tranz, Hikkaduwa 63/1 (3.4) ;  Bentota Beach Hotel 48/6 (4)  beat Avani Kalutara  42/6  (4.4).

Semi Finals: Elephant Reach, Yala 36/6 (5) lost to Club Bentota 37/4  (2.5);  Bentota Beach Hotel  73/4 (6) beat Chaaya Tranz  50/4  (5).

Final: Bentota Beach  59/6 (5) (Dinesh Fernando 30,  Samith Fernando 20,  Nishantha Silva 1/20, Dunil Darshana 3/7 (hat-trick)  lost to Club Bentota  60/3 (3.2)  (S. Priyankara 11,  Roshan Kumara 20,  Dunil Darshana 17, U. Punchihewa 1/18, Pradeep Fernando 2/7)
