Colombo Stock Exchange wins Millennium IT BFSI Cricket Challenge

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) emerged champions at the BFSI Cricket Challenge concluded recently, with a superb bowling performance that restricted runners-up Lankaclear to a score of only 36 runs.
Despite losing their two opening batsman in the first over of their innings, CSE’s Captain Chinthaka Weerasinghe, who was awarded the trophies for Best Batsman and Man of the Series, brought the team through to win the tournament. Lankaclear’s Migara Madawa Silva was awarded the trophy for Best Bowler of the tournament.
After a two year hiatus the Millennium IT BFSI tournament was reinstated in style with over 300 customers from 14 leading banks and financial institutions participating. The event was held at the Millennium IT campus in Malabe.
The other contenders at this six-a-side tournament were Amana Bank, Bank of Ceylon, Commercial Bank, DFCC Bank, Hatton National Bank, Infosys, National Development Bank, National Savings Bank, Nations Trust Bank, Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC, Peoples Bank and Sampath Bank.
