Commercial Credit partners Gunner Supercross 2014

Commercial Credit and Finance PLC today announced its partnership with the Gunner Supercross 2014 as a Special Sponsor. Organised by the Regiment of Artillery of the Sri Lanka Army, in association with the Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers’ Association (SLADA), the Gunner Supercross 2014 takes place on Sunday 3 August at the Artillery Complex in Minneriya with over 100 competitors showing the excellence of their prowess in motor racing.

Commercial Credit CEO Roshan Egodage said that the company was happy to join hands with the Regiment of Artillery of the Sri Lanka Army in this event. “Motor sports always generate a great deal of excitement with their thrills and spills. Gunner Supercross 2014 will be no exception and promises once again to be a great attraction in Sri Lanka’s motor sports calendar this year.” Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery Major General Jagath Rambukpotha emphasised that the prime objective of the event is to generate much needed funds for numerous welfare facilities and to improve necessary infrastructure facilities for serving soldiers and the dependents of departed soldiers, including those who made the supreme sacrifice. The people of nearby Thamankaduwa will also benefit through the many social welfare projects to be carried out by the Regiment of Artillery. This grand event was introduced in 2004 under the stewardship of the then Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery Major General S.D. Tennakoon RSP. The most looked forward to sporting event in the ‘Kingdom of Polonnaruwa’, the Gunner Supercross 2014 will see well over a hundred vehicles (both two and four wheeled) crunching the specially constructed gravel track generating nail-biting excitement.
