Commercial Credit wins Mercantile ‘D’ Division Cricket tournament by 103 runs

Commercial Credit emerged winners in the Mercantile ‘D’ Division Cricket tournament beating Mobitel by eight wickets to clinch the Lemonade trophy at the finals held recently at the MCA Grounds.

Mobitel won the toss and selected to bat first, but some accurate bowling from the Commercial Credit attack restricted them to 103 all out in 36 overs. The main wicket takers for Commercial Credit were Malith Fernando three for 22, Kavinda Silva three for 18 and Dhakshina Liyanage two for 10.

Commercial Credit then reached the target in just 20 overs with Kavinda Silva scoring an outstanding 60 not out and Prasad Dias 28 not out. Kavinda Silva was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for his brilliant all round performance.
