Cordova House champions at Zahira College Athletic Meet

The runners up trophy By RuzaikFarook The annual Athletic Meet of Zahira College was held at the college grounds recently, with Cordova House emerging champions. Cordova House Captain Usman Hamid collected the challenge shield from Chief Guest Sri Lanka Shipping Company Managing Director Reza Aboobucker. The competition’s Guests of Honour were former college Soccer Captain M.H.M. Dahalan and Old Boys Association UK Branch Vice President Rilwan Fareed, who distributed prizes to the winners. Principal Trizvi Marikkar, members of the Board of Governors, Sports Council Chairman M.S.M. Mazeer, Old Boys and parents were also present.

The school’s Head Prefect Nazmi Mahmood delivered the vote of thanks. The overall championship was won by the Cordova House (136.5 points), while Istanbul House (117 point ) finished in second position, Angora House (92.5 points) slotted in third and Baghdad House (89 points) secured fourth position. The runners-up trophy was received by Istanbul House Captain Abdul Ruzaik and Istanbul House Athletic Captain Fawaz Ahamed from the Chief Guest along with the college’s Athletic Captain M.N.M. Hamdoon.
