CR&FC to meet Havies in their traditional game

Unbeaten CR&FC will lock horns with unbeaten Havies in their traditional game on 28 November at Longdon Place in week two of the Inter club league rugby encounter. 

CR&FC, one of the best young outfits this year led by tough nut Ishan Noor and supported by a bunch of youngsters such as the Costa brothers, Shashan Mohamed, Lochana Hettitarachchi, Tharinda Ratwatte and Prince Chamara, all being class acts, could be top of any team on their day. 

The Havies have some quality players under their belt such as skipper Sandun Herath, Sudharshan Muthuthanthri, Mithun Hapugoda and Asian star Dhanushka Ranjan. He should be brought under control if not it will be nightmare for the “Red Shirts”. Ranjan could split any defense with his fine run and sidestepping. 

On the books Havies are having a slight edge on experience compared to the young CR&FC.

The weekend will start on Friday with the Sailors hosting the Army SC at Welisara. This game should be a close one with the hosting team having a slight edge and currently unbeaten in the league.

Police SC should be re-grouping and assured of getting the better of the inexperienced CH&FC. It will be good to see if the youngsters could contain the cops below half a century.

This game will be controlled by Sarath Madugalle.

The last game during week two will be at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium when defending league and Clifford Cup champions Kandy SC host Sri Lankan Air Force on Sunday. Kandy playing at home with some quality players such as skipper Fazil Marija, Gayan Weeraratne, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Richard Dharmapala and Nigel Ratwatte should not have any difficulties in overcoming their opponents. If the airmen can contain the home team below 50 points it will be a good display by them.
