The Annual Ceylon Tea Traders Association vs Planters Sports Festival spanning two days began on Friday at the historic Darawalla Club in Dickoya.
Sports events such as tennis, billiards, badminton, rugby and cricket will be held as in the past and it is expected that most of the tea traders and planters who had excelled in sports during the past will be seen in action on these two days.
On 15 November, badminton and tennis competitions were worked out. Today a 25-over cricket match will commence at 9:30 a.m. and the rugby match will start at 4 p.m. on the same day, which will be followed by the social in the evening.
