Dave Bilbrough to perform at Inter-Church Games Opening Ceremony

One of Britain’s foremost Christian songwriters and worship leaders will perform at the Opening Ceremony and Worship Concert of Inter-Church Games 2015, which will be held on the 18 April from 5 p.m. onwards at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo 8. He will also be joined on stage by Joel Thomasraj from India, and Pastors Rasika Jayasuriya, Nishantha Gulavita and Pio Anandappa from Sri Lanka. The performers will be accompanied by many well-known local musicians as well. Dave has over three decades in full-time Christian ministry and numerous albums later, he is recognised as one of Britain’s foremost songwriters and worship leaders. Drawing on folk roots and world music influences, Dave is also an author, having produced three foundational books of teaching. He describes the process of book writing as “writing long songs where the words don’t need to rhyme”. As well as leading celebrations all across the UK, Dave’s travels have taken him to the USA, various European and Scandinavian countries, Malaysia, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Uganda, Kenya, Australia and the Middle East. The Inter-Church Games Opening Ceremony will also feature a grand entrance parade by all the participating churches, and will be graced by Bishop of Colombo the Rt. Rev. Dhiloraj Canagasabey and Mrs. Canagasabey. Tickets for the concert are available at the Enforcers of the Call office at Longden Place (opposite Deanna Dancing School) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and will also be available at the gate.
