Dilan and Dinesh keep Mobil flag flying

Podium finishes at Rotherham Katukurunda Circit Meet 2012

Dilan Seneviratne and Dinesh Jayawardana finished strongly in both SL-H 1600 races at The Rotherham Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2012 held last weekend, claiming second and third place respectively.

Seneviratne who qualified second and Jayawardana fifth the day before, had stiff competition on race day. Ashan Silva who qualified pole and Sajaad Zuhair third had an intense battle in race one right from the start with Zuhair going on to grab the race lead into the first corner, however it was not long after Silva regained the lead, Seneviratne and Jayawardana both from Team Mobil made their way past Zuhair and went on to finish second and third respectively with Silva winning.

Race two of SL-H 1600 started off with a surprise as Emdad Husain went on to grab the race lead into the first corner after making a fabulous start off the line. Nevertheless, it didn’t take long for Silva and Seneviratne to pass Husain before the end of the first lap. Soon after Jayawardana also went onto pass Hussain and take third position.

Seneviratne who initially pressured Silva for the race lead seemed content with his second place and Jayawardana went on to soak up the pressure from Zuhair and finish third. Overall it was a great weekend of racing for Team Mobil with two podium finishes each in SL-H1600 race one and two.
