Dinesh Fernando wins GEESE Play Golf tourney

Dinesh Fernando emerged as the overall winner at the Hellmann’s annual golf tournament, GEESE Play Golf, which was played to a Stableford format at the Ridgeways course recently.

This event that is patronised by over 70 key industry professionals representing a cross section of persons comprising exporters/shipping lines and airlines saw Shiran Fernando finish as the runner-up.

Many golfers who are members of the Royal Colombo Golf Club also participated. Dinesh Fernando obtained an impressive 39 points and was able to pip Shiran Fernando to second place with a better back nine score. Nick Nicolau won the par 3 holes while Nimal Wettimuny won the par 5 holes. Among the attractive prizes for the winners were airline tickets and much more. Hellmann plans to include this event in its annual corporate calendar with the expectation of delivering an exciting experience of golf for all participants. (TBR)
