Shehan Weerasinghe scored 100 off 115 balls with seven boundaries and seven sixes together with Sajith Dilantha who scored 93 off 121 balls (14 boundaries and a six) shared a 144 run partnership for the fifth wicket to see Tri Youth CC declare their first innings at 320/9 in their Donovan Andree Trophy cricket tournament match against Old Servatian CA&FC. Tri Youth hosted the game at the Bandaranayake College Grounds, Veyangoda last weekend.
Tri Youth on being asked to bat first declared their innings at 320/9.
Shehan Weerasinghe scored his first century for the season while Sajith Dilantha was unlucky to be ruled out lbw on 93 off a ball from left arm leg spinner Chanuka Dilshan his third victim in a five wicket haul.
Left Arm leg spinner Amitha Kaushalya 7/83 and skipper Sampath Shri Pushpakumara 3/108 (right arm off spin) secured a first innings win restricting the Old Servatian innings to 272. Ruchira Jathunge (75) and Ramesh Nimantha (53) registered half tons. Right arm offspinner Ashen Deemantha captured seven wickets to restrict the Tri Youth second innings to 157 runs. Kavindra Perera scored 53 runs. Time deprived the Old Servtians from taking their second lease at the wicket.
