DPGC Challenge Trophy MCA ‘E’ Division 30 Over League Tournament progresses with impressive performa

Opening batsman Susantha de Mel carried his bat out after scoring pulsating unbeaten century (113 not out in 74 balls, inclusive of 5 sixes and 15 fours), as Union Assurance PLC amassed 320 for 2 in 29 overs and walked away with a huge 123 runs win over Ceylon Tobacco Co., in the ongoing 14th David Pieris Group of Companies – DPGC Challenge trophy – MCA ‘E’ Division 30 Over League Tournament 2016, continued last weekend. 

De Mel was associated in a 226 runs opening stand in 130 balls with Lakshan Perera, who matched up with a whirlwind century (130 in 74 balls, inclusive of 11 sixes and 14 fours)

Other sterling batting performances (75 runs and more) came from opener Kasun Perera from Assetline Group (carried his bat out , scoring 99 in 77 balls, inclusive of 4 sixes and 12 fours Vs. Singer Sri Lanka “B”) ; Opener, Sanka Thabrew from Toll Global (91 in 72 balls, inclusive of 2 sixes and 10 fours Vs. Gestetner ); Panil Wasantha from Noyon Lanka (91 in 58 balls, inclusive of 6 sixes and 10 fours Vs. Bimputh Finance) and Kalpa Ravihara from UB Finance (77 not out in 39 balls, inclusive of a six and 10 fours.

The bowling spotlight fell on Umayanga Premakumara from Citizens Development Business (06-03-15-06 Vs. Emerchemie ) followed by Ramitha Galawaduge from Emerchemie NB (06-42-05 Vs. CDB) and Arosha Perera from UB Finance (06-03-05 Vs. Hilton Colombo )
