Education Ministry to hold National School Sports Festival in Hambantota

The Ministry of Education has decided to hold the National School Sports Festival in an outstation location after a long time.

Accordingly, the National School Sports Festival will be held in Beliatta D.A. Rajapaksa esplanade of Hambantota District in September, the Ministry of Education said.

The National School Sports Festival was not held in outstations for a long time due to the lack of synthetic running tracks in outstations, Ministry sources said.

Over 8,000 athletes and officials take part in National School Sports Festival each year.

A logistics report on holding the National School Sports Festival in Beliatta was handed over to the Minister of Education yesterday by the officials who conducted a study in the area.
