Elephant House signs up as sponsor of Gunner Super Cross 2013

Elephant House, the premier beverage and ice cream brand in Sri Lanka is once again a key player in the Gunner Super Cross motor racing gala, to be worked out at the Sri Lanka artillery Complex in Minneriya on Sunday, 04 August 2013, as the official food, beverage and ice cream sponsor. Despite the highly charged atmosphere and fever-pitched excitement, racing fans can stay cool and refreshed with the wide range of Elephant House soft drinks and ice cream along with Keells food products to be made available at the venue.
This annual suspense-packed racing event organised by the Sri Lanka Regiment of Artillery in association with the Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers Association will take place at the Sri Lanka Army Artillery Complex in Minneriya. Scheduled for 04 August, this will be the eighth year that the thousands of racing enthusiasts will see a range of motor cycles, cars and jeeps battle it out in a total of twenty-one events, striving to pass the chequered flag first and walk away with Gunner Super Cross honours. The custom-made gravel track has no doubt been the scene of many thrills and spills in the past and this year too the fierce competition will ensure a thrilling few hours for followers of this sport. Elephant House once again lends support to this event which channels the proceeds towards numerous projects aimed at uplifting the lives of army personnel and their families.
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (Elephant House) Head of Frozen Confectionery and John Keells Holdings PLC Vice President, Neil Samarasinghe expressed his views after signing the sponsorship agreement, “This event is especially significant since it is centred around the Sri Lanka Army’s Regiment of Artillery, and the soldiers along with their families are benefited in ways that will truly enhance their lives.
