EZY Racing officially listed in APRC Malaysia competitor list
Just over a fortnight after having announced a ground breaking major move and creating history in motor sports in Sri Lanka, five years after having set up Sri Lanka’s first ever professional Motor Racing company, EZY Motor Racing Corporation, the brand owners of the country’s most followed motor racing team EZY Racing, were officially listed in the competitor list of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship’s Asia Cup Line Up in a recent release by APRC. With this EZY Racing who launched their International Rally Racing car ER 88 will officially be competing in the APRC leg in Malaysia, due to kick off on 15 August at Johor Bahru City.
15 times National Champion Dinesh Deheragoda, who recently joined the prestigious motor racing team, will maneuver the ER 88 and has promised to put Sri Lanka on the world map of motor racing.
EZY Racing who will become the island nation’s very first motor racing team to compete in an FIA (the world governing body for motor racing) governed race transnationally, will compete amongst the regions best which includes teams from India, Japan, Australia and many more countries.
The Black and Red Motor Racing Team which is a part of the Singapore based diversified EZY Corporation, considers the Malaysian Rally as the closest home race for them as it’s conducted in the border of Singapore and Malaysia.

The APRC which is renowned to have a great followership worldwide is held in a diverse range of countries, climates and cultures which includes New Zealand, New Caledonia, Australia, Japan, China, Malaysia and Thailand. Ranked as an extension of FIA’s apex World Rally Championship, APRC is the leading Rally Championship for the whole of Asia Pacific and is considered to be the top contender for the regions premier event.
The APRC will be viewed by 684 million people who will be following APRC on television from over 160 countries across the world as is viewed by many sponsors as a great platform to make their brands known internationally. Dubai based Interactive Goup who have been one of the first international corporates to jump on board this opportunity with Ezy Racing expressed their excitement, when their CEO Shahid Mahmud stated,

Multiple National Champion Deheragoda who has won over 272 podium finishes in an illustrious career spanning over 17 years, will possibly become the first Sri Lankan driver to compete in a FIA governed race internationally and will create history when he takes the wheels of ER88 on15, 16 and 17 August in Malaysia. Deheragoda who has previously run three international rallies on his own, with this announcement will be transforming his career purely as an International Race Driver and will not participate in local motor racing, unless required by EZY Racing for their icon events in the country.
