Eighteen year old Eshan Siriwardena emerged victorious at Red Bull Kart Fight organised by SLARDAR with technical expertise from RACECRAFT.
He recorded an almost 0.5 second lead in best laptime over runner up Charith De Soysa Siriwardena to secure his place in the finals in Bolgne, Italy.
In a finals filled with excitement and leads changing hands Eshan drove with skill and precision to outclass the competition. Having qualified in 10th position, Eshan came out on top with his focused driving.
The event which was divided into 2 days saw a lot of crowds turning out to cheer their friends and family. Many past and present racers were present to witness the first ever Red Bull Kart Fight in Sri Lanka.
165 participants registered and the 32 who qualified were divided into eight heats. There were then 16 quarter finalists who were divided into four races. Eight semi finalists went through and the top two drivers from each semi final took part in the finals.
The Red Bull Kart Fight amateur karting competition gives drivers in over 20 countries the chance to experience wheel-to-wheel action and the smell of burning rubber for real.
