The Drive Hard, Dress Different Fun Rally, so titled after the promotional theme of the affiliation between these two glamorous brands, consisted of 80kms that was plotted by Rally Adventures together with MRA, the rally specialists who have successfully held many professional rallies, was successfully concluded with the competitors expressing their utmost satisfaction about the event. The fun rally, which was designed to increase the followership for motor racing in Sri Lanka, is only the beginning of EZY Racing and Crocodile’s mission to increase passionate motor racing followership in the country.

The vastly popular motor racing team who recently announced a historical partnership with Crocodile as their Official Clothing Partner, kicked their partnership off in a Crocodilian manner when they flagged off the 50 vehicles belonging to their fans, at which 10 lady drivers showed off their driving prowess. The rally which began at the EZY Holdings new office at Bagatalle Road and ended at the Grid in Battaramulla, took competitors through challenging roads in Colombo and its suburbs providing them with different challenges, which saw most of them even having to change a tyre in a pit challenge, the first time for most people.

EZY Racing fan Thahir Ali, co driven by Micheal Jayatillake driving a freelander SUV were declared winners for accumulating the least number of debit points, which earned them a fully paid trip including air tickets, hotel accommodation, pocket money and grand stand tickets to watch the most glamorous formula 1 event of the year in the Yas Marina circuit, Abu Dhabi. Isthikam Ghouse finished second and was awarded an EZY Racing edition ER3 laptop which is the only racing branded laptop in Sri Lanka. Lady driver Janaki Alahapperuma, an EZY Racing fan who qualified for the rally from Matara was given a Rs. 25,000 gift voucher from Crocodile for being placed third in the rally which was also the highest position among the lady drivers. “When we announced the partnership between EZY Racing and Crocodile, we did promise our fans a whole new experience. Today was a testimony of it. Ever since the announcement of the Drive Hard, Dress Different Challenge, all our fans were really excited, especially because we were offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to have an all expense paid trip to watch the Abu Dhabi grand prix live. Only 100 of our fans got the opportunity to participate in this fun event as we only accepted participation through invitation. Most people who participated had absolutely no clue of what a rally was, but ended up going home in high spirits and all too ready to take up the challenge again soon,” said Shafraz Hamzaden, CEO/Managing Director, EZY Motor Racing Corporation.

Hamzadeen further said that when they announced the partnership with Crocodile, they planned on many more activities apart from Crocodile clothing the team alone. “We are excited about motor racing and rallying. We are thrilled about being able to dress differently in the paddocks. What we want to do is create the same excitement with our fans. This is what inspired us to introduce the Drive Hard, Dress Different promotion theme. This fun rally is just the beginning, as we have many more activities planned to increase passionate followership to motor racing.”

Immediately following the rally many fans expressed their excitement and satisfaction of the rally on Ezy Racing”s facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/ezyracing).
